[TenTec] Orion Aux Audio output

I have been trying to get back into digital modes and notice that the audio  
output from the AUX I/O connector pin 4 seems to depend on the volume control  
instead of being a line out as described in the manual and as it operated 
prior  to ver 2.
 
This is maddening because it means you have to turn up the volume and  listen 
to the warbling.  Before you could turn down the volume and just  watch the 
screen.
 
Anyone else notice this?
