Correction on my part. As I had a 962 to repair this evening, I remembered
that procedure I had given is for the 961 power supply where the filter is
mounted on a angle bracket. The 962 has the filters on a PC board. Do make
sure the screws are tight where the PC board is mounted. Also check to see
that the screws are tight holding the power transformer.
In my case the bridge rectifier was shorted thus immediately blowing a fuse
on power up. Replaced the bridge and all was well. Took about 10 minutes
to get it out and put in a new one.

Be sure and tighten the two screws on the large filter cap and be sure the
metal bracket holding the filter cap is secure to the chassis. I've found
that the metal bracket is often somewhat floating above ground. The
result is the problem you describe.

Subject: [TenTec] Need 962 diagram
I have a TT 962 power supply that came with the Omni 6+.
It has an 24v ac component on the output that I believe indicates
the filter caps are bad or perhaps the full wave rectifier.
Anyway, I have no diagram of the circuitry and am hoping some
one can scan and mail a copy or the whole manual, if someone
has it in pdf format. The manual for the power supply is not on
on the Ten-Tec old manuals page.
Thanks in advance.
