Vincent;
What were you measuring the power output with? Since you don't seem to
be generating an unusual amount of heat, we can assume that you are not
overpowering it with your power supply. I've had my 1208 for over 4
years and the power output has always remained at around 8.1 watts as
measured on a "calibrated" Bird wattmeter.

Hi to all the Ten Tec crew!
I recently built a 6 meter transverter model 1208 to be able to work in
the magic band with my ArgonautII. Although specs claim for a power
output around 8W, following the manual instructions regarding setting
up, I was able to get more than 12W output. Is there anybody else with
the power output from the PA. The fact is that whet touching the finals
with my finger they were not very hot. Any comments and/or suggestions
will be welcome. Hope to work you also on 6m very soon. Thank you very
much in advance for help and advice.
Vicenç, EA3ADV
