The 1220's stated power consumption is:
Receive (no signal) 200 mA
Transmit (low power) 1.0 A
Transmit (high pwr) 5.0 A
Dimentions:
2.25" high
6.5" wide
5.75" deep
add 2.13" for rear heatsink if 35 watt amp is installed
add 1" to front for mike connector
I built mine in the evenings of one week. It has worked perfectly and I
really do get unsolicited wonderful audio reports. The only "problem" I've
had was a harsh vibration of the upper case sheetmetal associated caused by
mechanical energy from the speaker at high volume settings. I cured this by
passing one wrap of electrical tape around the rear of the backplate where
the noise was comeing from.
I built it with the 35 watt amp, and found that it is possible to drill a
small hole throught the rear chassis so that final tuning can be done with
everything in place.
