Hello, I drove my ground rod in thru the basement floor too. Luckily, the 
first several inches were sandy and I just pushed the rod down enough to get 
some 
beating room. But I was really sweating it, as I could just see hitting a 
rock and starting all over in a different spot. All went well fortunately, 
except 
I wish I'd have stopped a little higher. Oh well, All is grounded now.
