Brian,
I used an Omni V and then an Omni VI+ for years, but never found their noise
blankers to be very useful. I no longer have them and I am back to my original
Corsair II. If I turn the noise blanker level up very high it seems to be
effective on some types of impulse noise. Mine uses the 80977 NB board.
Maybe the most effective noise blanker I've used is the one in my little
Elecraft K2. It has a couple of different settings and it actually does reduce
some noise types without chopping up the intended signal.
Your mileage may vary...
