There is already a reduction built in, but if the knob and the bezel
move at the same speed that reduction is frozen stiff. Then it needs a
rebuild.

On my Corsair II, I made a new larger knob, about 2" diameter solid
aluminum that gives a little bit more effective reduction from the
sliding finger and with its weight gives a better feel for tuning. In
either case its so much better than the BC-348 that I get along just
fine.
