Yep, use an external keyer.  I own several radios with internal keyers  but 
never use them.  I use a LogiKey K-1.  It's old and has been replaced with a 
reportedly better K-3 model.  Let the internal CPU run the radio and use the 
small CPU in the keyer to send good CW.
