I'm a bit confused over the data as presented in Sherwood's chart:

For example, he shows the Orion with only the 20 kHz roofing filter at
96dB/79dB (20 kHz and 2 kHz DR) but the Orion with the 500 Hz roofing filter
is degraded to 96dB/75 dB.
In another example the Orion with 1 kHz filtering (I am assuming non-roofing
in the lower I.F.) has tested performance of 96dB/85dB @ 1 kHz but degrades
to 86dB/72dB with a 500 Hz non-roofing filter @ 1kHz.
Is it me or are the numbers counter-intuitive?
