I suggest you do a Google search for these topics:

You find many comments about the poor receive audio quality and some ideas 
on how to enhance it.

The Original Omni VI was a model 563. An upgrade was available to make the 
562 into a VI+. The VI+ came out later as a new rig and model 564.
There are some differences, mostly having to do with construction of the 
circuit boards. The 564 began using surface mount components which are 
almost impossible to replace when/if neded. Just keep in mind that the 563 
is older.

Which one? The 563 should sell for about $1,200 and the 564  $1,500. Filters 
run about $65 on the used market. prices vary.
