I had this problem in my Triton 2.
Well a similar problem.
Sometimes the audio would go dead.
Using the eraser end of a pencil, I tapped around on all of the components
of the audio board until I found a section of the board which seemed to
cause it to go on and off if I tapped it.
I removed the board and re-soldered everything near and in that area.
The problem was solved.
I can't say which component actually had the cold solder joint, but at least
it now works.

Subject: [TenTec] Argosy
My Argosy has developed an annoying problem. The audio level (I think)
goes to or approaches zero. If I repower, audio returns to normal until
it happens again. As I am using it primarily for QRP and running 5
watts I don't know - can't tell if it is affecting output.
I am open to suggestions regarding where I can start poking. It has
both a standard 220 SSB crystal filter as well as the audio cw filter
but the problem seems to occcur regardless if either or none of the
filters are selected.
