[TenTec] 243 Remote VFO Mod Question

Hello Gentlemen,

 

I have been cleaning my shack while spending so much time at home.

 

I found I have an extra 234 Remote VFO that has a modification of an
additional connector in the back panel.

 

The connector is a 9-pin serial port.  Inside the 243 an additional board
has been added with wires that connect to the serial port.

 

I don't have a serial port on my Omni-C so wondering if anyone is familiar
with this mod.
