Carl's comments are very correct. One other difference is in the 100 KHz to
1.7 MHz range. The front end switching and attenuation does reduce the
sensitivity on the Paragon II. Also the Paragon II memory will be retained
after power is turned off. The Paragon required a 9 V battery which was
recharged by external power to hold the memory. It was only good for about
10 days without recharging. After that, all memory and clock settings
reverted to factory defaults. And the Paragon II provides 10 Hz display all
the time. That feature required initialization on the Paragon. The Paragon
II has a different SLOW AGC time constant. The Paragon SLOW AGC was quite
fast but could be easily changed by changing a cap to 22 mfd as I recall
(I'll look if anyone want to know.)
I'm sure there are other differences and improvements but these are the ones
I can recall at the moment.
