I have found the gain from the Heil Goldline to be marginal for the tentec
radios. I run an old tentec model 234 speech processor with just a little
processing. The processor works as a great limiter in case I get excited
and speak to loudly (like yell!). It also works as a great mic amp and
brings the gain up nicely to match the Jupiter and/or Orion mic input.

from QSO's, but I have noticed I have to keep the mic gain up around 85% to
barley kick the ALC, almost 90% if I put on the windsock. I also have the
"Heil Line" cable for the Ten- Tec purchased directly from Heil. Should I
worry?
