Greg, PSK is done with a sound card and software program. You only need an audio in and out of the transceiver. The Orion II has programmable line level (and isolated) audio in and out ports on the back panel. The other modes such as RTTY are usually done with a TNC, such as the Kantronics, AEA, or MFJ types. There are other digital modes done only with sound card and software. Use the keyword of the mode you are interested in, to Google for additional information; or visit the Technical Information Service articles of ARRL at www.arrl.org The Orion II has a DB9 connector for its RS 232 interface. I think they have some on line information at the Ten Tec web pages as well. GL and 73, Stuart K5KVH |
