My experience with the RF keying method is sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't. When it doesn't it will take out the FET in the preamp.
Therefore, I have resorted to hard DC keying of the amp from the exciter.
No problems since adopting this approach.

Yes, i key my mirage 6m amp with a cable. rf sensing i heard somtimes
delays the relay time and will burn up the amps pre-amp. The 6N2 is a nice
little rig that i have a lot of fun with.
