I have had the Pegasus since the end of October. My Omni VI has seen little
use since then but I guess that is to be expected when you get a new toy.
I have found the receiver to be more than adequate and feel that it is a
notch above the 706, TS-50 radios. It is as good as the IC-756, better than
the TS-570 but not in the same class as the Omni VI, FT-1000 or MP. These are
the only other radios that I have had some experience with.
I have found that the ability to enter the frequency into the Pegasus from
the keyboard is a feature that I would like to disable. Twice now I have
tried to enter dx spotting information into the Pegasus display because I had
the wrong window selected. There is no way that I have found to get back to
the original frequency once you have hit a single key.
I have managed to crash the windows application twice. The first time when I
was configuring my own filter selections. Another time when I was just
playing with the passband control. However, I write software for a living and
I understand that occasional crashes are unavoidable especially in a new
product. I am very impressed with the robustness of the entire radio.
Overall It is the most fun that I have had with any radio in quite a while.
