Kirk: I had to chime in since what you're describing is exactly what I'm
using. The PR40 sound great on the O2 with nothing in between and all the
settings flat. Adding the 8-Band and EQPlus gives the ability to quiet down
a noisy shack, give some additional robustness to the audio, and to quickly
change the audio from 'arm-chair copy rag-chew mode' to 'massive DX pile-up'
mode.
If you get a chance and if band condx are reasonable, look for me on the Ten
Tec net tomorrow afternoon.
