I am putting together a county list for the VA QSO party and have run into
one small problem, which may be a "feature" of TRLog that's not discussed
in the manual.
Evidently there is a length limitation on the string that TRLog looks for
when assigning what you are typing into the exchange window for a domestic
mult. For example, my .dom file has the following lines to define King
William, King George, Prince William, Prince George, and Prince William
counties:
.
.
.
KngW = KING W
KngG = KING G
.
.
.
PrnE = PRINCE E
PrnG = PRINCE G
PrnW = PRINCE W
.
.
.
When I type KING WILL in the exchange window, TRLog has no problem parsing
this to KngW in the list of mults, but when I enter PRINCE GEOR or PRINCE
WILL, TRLog thinks I've typed PRINCE EDW. I think that TRLog is looking at
only the first 6 or 7 chars that are entered. The program behaves fine when
I shorten the listings in the .dom file to look like:
PrnW = PRIN W
but then I have to remember to type them in that way... Is this the
expected behavior for the program? I don't have that much experience in
making up .dom files for "other" contests. Has anyone else run into this
promlem?
