John,
I thought the unlimited entry was a good way for a casual operator to
maximize the time spent.
However, I did not think to extend it to club or other calls. I probably
would not do that, but I do see how it could be of benefit in several
contests where the multipliers are limited.

Contacting active contesters of recent activity would be a good way to
invite more members. Logs and contest postings would be a place to search.
A mailing list for that and GQP would be needed.

Perhaps a public presence at the hamfests as SECC might help, as at a table
with a banner.
That's easy for me to recommend, as I am gone for most of the hamfests.
But I could be here for Stone Mtn, and Dalton, perhaps a few others.

Also, getting present members to participate, and send logs should be played
up.
We do a lot of that now, but there may be more we could do.

'Nuther thing,
When I am out island hopping, I take time to explain this little known niche
of ham radio.
When we are contesting, particularly as casual or part time ops, we should
take the time to invite any GA/AL/TN/SC contacts to join SECC.
Or, anyone who we think is in the club geographical circle.
A reference to the SECC web site with a bit of welcome might get some
members.

Also, can we take members out of the radius for some category of contests?
(SOUTH EAST = GA/AL/TN/KY/NC/SC/FL/VA/WVA/MS/LA/?)
We could make a list of geography bound contests for those in the radius.
I think I can operate from CO for some of the contests and still contribute
to SECC.

Just rambling...

Good topic John,
Thanks,

PS, I had sent the above to John, thinking I had sent it to all...
I guess I just don't have the hang of this PC thingy. Hi.

Mike, NE4S
