Hello all:
I'd like to ask you all to remember in your thoughts and prayers my old
friend, Bart Fay, W4NS (formerly K4CEF). Bart is now in the Huntsville,
AL area and was originally from Panama City, FL. He went with us on our
SEDXC contest expedition to Curacao as PJ9GIW in 1973.
He has just been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is facing surgery in
about two weeks. He is very concerned about it, but has been assured
that this type of tumor is seldom malignant and it seems to be
completely located between the skull and the brain, not involving the
brain. He had basically no symptoms of the tumor, but it was discovered
when he had a physical and told the doctor he was sometime a bit
forgetful. The doctor ordered a brain scan and it was thus discovered
while it was asymptomatic.
Let's all pray that it is, in fact, benign and that Bart has an
uneventful surgery and a full recovery.
