V11.02 9th September 2004

WAE Contest - QTCs:
QTCs are now logged directly in their recommended
Cabrillo format. SDQTC is no longer needed to re-
format the QTCs and has been discontinued.

AutoStart - CW:
With AutoCW enabled, the CWSTART (or START) command
lets you select which callsign character position
will automatically start the F2 exchange message.
For example, with CWSTART=4, the F2 message starts
as soon as you type the 4th callsign character. Any
extra callsign characters will be picked up so long
as you keep ahead of the keyer. There's no need to
press Enter, and no harm if you do.

With AutoStart enabled, the ACW "mode" indicator
changes to XCW, where X represents your starting
position. If the callsign has fewer characters
than X, you'll have to press Enter, as usual, to
play the F2 message. The minimum value for X is 3,
and I'd recommend setting it to 5 at first. With
lower values, you have to be careful not to start
the keyer before you've heard the full call.

If the keyer takes off before you're ready, use Esc
or minus to stop it. The Apostrophe key can be used
to disable both Auto CW and Auto Start in a hurry.
To disable Auto Start without affecting AutoCW, set
    CWSTART to 0.

Serial Ports:
The SHARECOM command enables a single serial port
for both rig control and keying, except when using
WinKey. Use the PORTS command to assign specific
ports. If WinKey is enabled, you must disable it
    with the WINKEY command.

When a port is shared, it will not supply power on
DTR or RTS for external level converters.

Ctrl - CW Keyboard Mode:
For Win2000 and XP, Ctrl, on its own, toggles CW
Keyboard Mode (just like the old DOS programs).
With other versions of Windows, your only option
    is Alt-K.

A quick tap of the Ctrl key is all that's needed.
Otherwise SD may stay in logging mode.

SD - Multipliers.
Added option to track multipliers, in mixed-mode
events, that count once on each mode - regardless
of band (for example - the OHIO QSO Party).

This applies to the three general-purpose options
    with multipliers:
        Type 4 - Area multipliers
        Type 9 - Country multipliers
Type 10 - Country and area multipliers

Added OHIO.MLT - for the Ohio QSO Party
CQP.MLT - for the California QSO Party.

File Names:
The programs now remove spaces in file names when
you start a new contest log. In the same way,
SDCHECK will no longer open .ALL files with spaces
in the name - you should rename them if necessary.

The programs may be downloaded from www.ei5di.com. Please
keep a copy of whatever version(s) you're using now - as
insurance!

What would you like to see in the next update? I'm working
on an integrated voice keyer, to playback WAV files using the
F keys.

73,
Paul EI5DI
