I saw one at Boxboro (ARRL Convention), looked like it never was
installed. It was still there at 3PM on Sunday, asking price was
$150 !!
I bought one about 20 years ago, used, and use it on 80 exclusively.
Works very well.

Hi guys,
It wasn't me that posted the message about the vertical, but if you are
looking for a good vertical that will take the power, check out the Hy-Gain
AV-18HT. I have one that has been in more or less constant use since Jan.
1967. The manual rates it at 1KW AM or 2KW PEP. I see the new specs only
say 1500 watts PEP SSB. It's the best 40 meter ant. I have ever had. The
ant. is free standing and has survived winds up to about 90 MPH (typical NM
Spring weather!).
