I am a relative newbie to RTTY contesting, and am using a new PC along with
the latest version of MMTTY. I seem to have run into a setup issue that I
need some help with.
I am running AFSK, and my transmitted tones seem to be quite a bit lower in
frequency than the incoming tones I am tuning into ie - transmitted tones
have a lower pitch. I called quite a few stations, and get no response.
Through trial and error, I found some would move *their* TX frequency, then
call me. I found by running my RIT at +170 hz, things seem to be working.
I tried the TX offset in MMTTY - set it to 170 hz/RIT off, but again back
to no response when calling another station.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
