The XY Scope is kind of like what you get when using the FIR profile with the
vertical and horizontal bars. I find this easier to
tune than ellipses. I guess you just have to get used to it but it's not hard.

Interesting. I just now played with the AA6YQ 512 filter on a couple of weak
signals and it does seem pretty good. One question
though - the crossed bar tuning indicator seems a little more difficult to tell
when the tuning is right on, since the bars do not
rotate like ellipses. Any tricks to more accurate tuning?
