Hi all,
My 2cents worth:
Yes, they are the same to set up, BUT, have you heard just HOW bad some of
those PSK signals are? OK, there are some bad RTTY signals as well, but a
quick listen to 14.070 or 21.070 and you can always hear plenty of
overdriven signals.
Also, I suspect that many choose PSK simply because it is an excellent mode
for low power/small antennas, and is used by many folk living with strict
antenna limitations. PSK is also chosen by many of the QRP brigade as well.
There is also the option for them to "convert" to the joys of RTTY a bit
later on, so don't give up on them just yet.
Then again, maybe the RTTY bunch just don't bother to fill in such things?
Who knows?
Anyway, if you haven't yet voted, go and do so!
