At the risk of repeating what has been said, N1MM is not designed to spot 
stations on your run frequency!
Jamie reported that this may have happened at some time in the past, it is 
not the way it works today. It was an accident if it ever worked that way.

I agree, spotting stations on your run frequency is essentially self 
spotting.

I am reasonably sure that N1MM isn't going to be changed because the authors 
want it to work the way it does. It is an option! (I do personally know at 
least 3 of the team.)
