In the case of power line noise, the FCC typically gives utilities 30 to 60
days to resolve RFI complaints. Even more time is allowed if they provide an
explanation and resolution schedule.
I suspect if the FCC learns you only gave the vendor one day, it may appear
you're not willing to reasonably work with the vendor and/or neighbor to find a
resolution. I doubt they'll send a warning letter for you in that case. A
non-response or refusal by the vendor or neighbor will get an FCC warning
issued fairly quickly.

Don't waste time with them. Inform them once. Give them a reasonable time
frame to resolve it. If it took them a day to install it, they should have
it resolved in a day (excluding shipping time of necessary filters). If
not, then report them, it's not your job to waste time on them unless they
pay you for it, in fact, once it's resolved, send them a bill, you've put a
lot of work into figuring out their failures at your own personal time,
expense and misery.
