Well, if it is on a 18hr on/6hr off cycle or 12hr on/12hr off cycle
could be Grow Lights, The new HV lights spew tons of RF
carriers in the 6MHz to 8MHz Region, not like the earlier
lights that gave Broadcast AM Band RFI.
It is a REAL problem these days.

A few questions to help fill in some details::Do you live in the city or the
country? How close are your neighbors? Are your utilities underground?Does it
have AC line nose characteristics? Is the noise comprised of discrete carriers
every 25 to 50 kHz that buzz or hum?Does the noise go away with different
weather (days with sun and dry versus cloudy and wet)? de Jim WB5WPA From:

experiencing a spate of loud, wid band noise in therange of roughly 6 to 9.8
MHz. Noise is virtually continuous, but doesstop occasionally for short
periods. No consistent timing pattern that Ihave observed.I have tested with
all local AC power shut off, so I do not believe it iscoming from any source in
the house or ham shack.Anyone have suggestions on where to look or what to look
for?Thanks.grK5FX_______________________________________________
