I have found, purely by accident, that switching to my K9AY loop to be very good as an omnidirectional RX antenna for a quick-look for domestic E-skip stuff on 12M and 10M. I don't understand why it works so well in this particular application - I think it is working as a vertical but maybe it's a multiple-wavelength loop (not as a directional array!).
