Agreed. But when there are several versions of the same spotted call, with the
incorrect ones being updated periodically from the same callsign, you can
pretty much bet that it is fake.
We used to have a competition within NCCC to see who could spot the most
stations, specifically including non-NCCC stations. I did pretty well, but
K6III always won the award.
Jerry had a knack for spotting, and did well from his San Jose city lot. Those
were definitely not fake spots.
