Just an observation, there are still many JA's on, but 95% of them do not have rock-crushing antennas or QTH's. Even from VK, the Japanese propagation is wobbly, and presently 40m is the easiest for me anyway. Nowadays, there is a zillion VK's now on HF since January 1, but like JA's, many do not have large (i.e. low angle) antennas.
