Being a Dinosauer, when I contest from home (unassisted) I
Disconnect all cable TV/internet/phone entries to the house.
Switch off mains to most parts of my house including the livingroom,
killing electric power to all possible wall-warts, routers, TV, radio,
kitchen appliences, clocks, lighting etc..
This lower the noise on my nearby RX antennas by just over 1 dB.
For 48 hours I am alone in my shack, which is powered separately,
enjoying radio.
The pizza-boy always wonders IF someone is at home at all.... (doorbell
is on batteries and re-routed to the shack)
