The bonus points for /N and /T stations in the 10M Contest were dropped
several years ago. I know, because I do the log checking and scoring
for the 10M Contest and I was directed to remove these bonuses from the
scoring software when the contest rules dropped the bonuses.
BTW, if anyone reads the 10M Contest announcement in the November 2017
QST, don't be confused by the line which states "Work everyone you can -
just one contact counts per call sign, regardless of the mode used".
This seems to contradict the rules for previous 10M contests, which
allowed for one CW and one SSB QSO per callsign. I asked ARRL HQ about
this and they confirmed that this was a typo, and that the existing
rules for this contest had not changed. The QST announcement was
supposed to read: "Work everyone you can on both modes (CW and SSB)"
Also, be aware that digital mode QSOs are not permitted in the 10M
contest at the present time. This is not a new rule; it is the way the
rules have always been for the 10M Contest.

In the 10m contest novices and tech were worth 5 or 10 points. I don't
think it mattered too much though.

The ARRL SS CW discussion has died down now that we're a good few weeks
past CW Sweeps. Nobody has commented on the huge number of '14, '15, '16,
and '17 checks in the phone Sweeps.
Others have in the past rued the demise of the Novice Roundup. So, why
not combine the both?
Recommendation for the flag pole saluters: permit hams who have a check
within three years of the year of the running of Sweeps to operate Sweeps
and allow 1.5x or 2.0x points for QSOs with stations whose check is within
three years of the year's running of Sweeps - CW only.
Stations who have been licensed longer than three years and submit a log
with a check within the three year window get DQed. Maybe this would help
generate a little activity?
IIRC, the ARRL 10 meter contest used to do this for Novices and Techs
some years ago.
