That's why I passed along the URL. Billy Jim Bob says "check it out!"
The ARF1500 series is spec-ed for Class C through Class E applications by
APC. They have some other, less humongous parts that are spec-ed for Class
A through Class E applications. If you're willing to experiment, the
smaller parts go out the door for $20 to $40 each. I don't know whether
APC has characterized its parts for IMD, but I don't recall seeing any IMD
info on their website or in their literature. Most of their application
notes focus on ISM applications like plasma generators, inductive heaters,
etc., although it's pretty easy to see how such information and a few
hundred kilowatts of walkin,' talkin' transistors could get into the wrong
hands.
They do have an app note for an FM broadcast band amp -- it would have to
be clean enough for that use to merit development of such a circuit. But
that's FM, and is well away from our frequencies of interest.
