This is a great rumor - amazing - like that game where you pass a
rumor and it gets altered until it is unrecognizable!
To set the story straight, CPI is moving the Eimac facility from San
Carlos up to Palo Alto, at the CPI klystron/microwave facility. The
San Carlos property is being sold or leased to others. CPI is not
going offshore for their production, to my knowledge. I was talking
to a manager there last month, and the move is roughly on schedule
for this summer. I will be talking with them at NAB next week, as
they usually have a big booth, with lots of neat products on display.
(Of course, IOTs are a bigger business in TV than tetrodes and
triodes for them).
