I had heard that these cyanoacrylates were developed by Eastman Kodak for mounting photographic prints (type EASTMAN 910, I believe). the surgical implementations came after people accidently glued various body parts together. I think the surgical type is a slightly modified formula, as is the type for porous (sp?) materials. Personally, I usually have better "luck" with other types of adhesive. BTW...
