I don´t think that there is enough heat wasted between words that it worth
to do something about it, in my opinion it is never a lot of additional
wasted power between words on normal talk.
On pauses the vox drops that current anyway.

With SSB transmissions there is a lot of power wasted as heat between 
words and during pauses. If the power is 1000 watts or so, that adds a 
lot to the cooling load.
