You will be safe at 1000W if the blower is set to high speed (depending upon
the vintage of the amp), is clean, oiled as well as clean tube fins.
With a well used tube keep it down at 750W.

## I concur. It gets even worse if used on 160 + 80m. The torroids used in
the PI-L on
160 +80m will cook their brains out when used on rtty....on the AL-1500 +
AL-1200.
The designer of the AL-1200 + AL-1500 didn’t think folks would operate RTTY
on the lowest 2 bands.
