Especially the earlier versions, GFI units are often "tripped" by r.f. even though there is no problem in the electrical system. As for those around my house, there is only one and it is in the backyard in a weatherproof housing next to my swimming pool. City regulations required this outlet and specified that it had to be a GFI when the pool was installed in 1982.
