This talk about the IC-706 keying spikes   got me to wondering about my own TS990. Anyone know first hand what if any keying spikes come out of the TS990. Can I just look at the output with  a directional coupler and a fast scope which is triggered off the keying line and get some kind of actual idea. At the moment my 990 is torturing my trusty 35+ year old TL922A which seems to be a very forgiving amp. Soon I will be relegating the 922 to "back up amp " status and rolling  in one of the LDMOS rigs into the slot, I understand that some of the LDMOS amps are very unforgiving about key up spikes even more so than the venerable A- 9500
