Is this not an opportunity to update the psu with one of the new
filter/rectifier boards that are available? Not only would it be more
effective but it would, I suspect, probably be cheaper. I've done
this for my L7-PS using modern 105C caps with a higher voltage rating
and thus giving greater headroom.
