Thanks for explaining that further. That formula is what I was looking
for..
2380V x 50k / (10M + 50k) = 11.84V
I like to "know" how this stuff works, only way i can learn it for future
use!
The B- is closely tied to chassis now, a new 1k 12w wirewound vitreous
enamel resistor is in place. The previous one evidently failed sometime
between testing the amp on HF and starting to modify it for 6M. Perhaps i
bumped it hard and broke a connection inside either end of it, but its open
now.
The meter in question, used for checking the output of the divider is my
trusty old fluke.
The transformer in the FL-2100B has the secondary marked with 850, 620, 425,
0. Make sense now?
It turns out it was just that resistor, the B- was above chassis ground due
to that open resistor. Another lesson learned! And don't worry about me
around HV, i don't fear it, i respect it, to me thats more. I have worked
around higher voltages then this.
