Hi All
The B&W homepage lists the B&W 850 as still available. This tank coil is
designed with the taps set for an inductance that yields a characteristic
impedance suitable for the 4-1000A operating at max plate voltage. This is
far from optimal for lower voltage ceramic tubes. At one time B&W made the
852 variant that was based on the same design but had a different
composition of windings and different tap points. It was used by Paul
Rinaudo W6KEV in the design of the Compact Kilowatt which employed the
4CX1000A. The question is: Is the 852 still made/available today? If so any
information on how to obtain a copy would be greatly appreciated
