And it'd keep my basement warm and dry in the winter although...I don't
think it'd be up to the task of keeping it dry when the sump pump quit.
Bill for cleaning up and drying, replacing the pump and
incidentals...about $5,000 (half that amp and almost a OM A4000, and
more than the OM A2000+
OTOH getting it downstairs without breaking something would take a crew.

<Ceramic Vac Variables, 5KW out looks like CCS. $10K is not a bad price
for what's there. No, it's not for everyone and a bit out of my league,
but when I total up what I've invested into ham gear, rigs, amps,
towers, coax, concrete, connectors, and test equipment, I had to stop
and realize just how much Ham Radio had cost me in my over 56 years as a
Ham. It was more than a bit of a surprise!

## It is 5 kw CCS output. Thats why it weighs 235 lbs. Its the real deal.
No auto tune, but with 14 x pre-sets, its ample. Amp goes into another room,
rolls
around on casters. Meanwhile the 7.8 lb control box sits on the desk.
Way better built than the henry 8k-ultra ever was. A silver plated, teflon
SO-239 will easily handle 5 kw. Just make sure you use the mating
silver-teflon
male plugs. They will install a 7-16 din if you want.
## bang for the buck, it makes the Alpha 9500, at $2k less, look like a
sick puppy. Better deal than the OM-4000, for what you get. No need to dump
95 lbs
on your desk. No torroids to blow up, no 3 min warm up, cant be over driven.
## That 3CX-3000A7 isnt even doing anything at that power level. The tube is
rated for
2.5 A CCS...and they are only running it at 1.4A. That tube will last 25
years.
