SELL: Heath SB220 retrofitted and dedicated to 6 meter operation. Runs
650-700 Watts (1000W potential) output continuous with 100W of drive
with a pair of Eimac 3-500's. Unit aesthetically Heath and cannot be told
from stock. However, it has a fully altered RF deck including a silver
plated tank coil, HV plate choke, and variable capacitors selected for
broadbanded 1 mHz excursions, when chasing DX, without retuning. The
front panel bandswitch knob now controls the exciter input tuning for a
perfect zero loss match. Unit has the Harbach rectifier/meter board and
the high quality MOF 100K ohm 3W equalizer/bleeder resistors installed. A
soft key 8VDC allows for keying from any solid state exciter. All other
circuitry is stock Heath. Complete with the original construction manual.
Clean front panel. Cabinet has some minor trim and top cover paint chips
but no dents nor dings. All meter switch positions are functional. Unit
available with current 75% efficiency tubes for $800 or can be sold
without the tubes for $750. Prefer pickup and demo in either New York
City or Scranton PA or can ship at purchaser's expense. Note! If your
tubes are full output, then the amplifier will produce 1000+ watts with
245VAC primaries. I can send the perforated cabinet out for respraying
