It's rated at 1000 watts out for 30 minutes in continuous carrier mode
(RTTY) and 1500 watts PEP out for 30 minutes in two tone test mode. If I
were going to run full power out in RTTY or SSTV mode, I'd definitely opt
for one of the larger Ameritron amps. This one shares the cabinet size of
the AL-80B and there isn't good airflow in the cap/coil compartment. The
coil in question is just a short distance from the fiberglass panel of the
tube compartment and probably gets pretty warm in continuous carrier mode
due to proximity to that panel. I believe that the larger Ameritron amps
have larger conductor coils, and of course a bit more space inside.
