My own case in point here: was unable to make the contact on 17 to Mali,
Africa moments ago, (2146 z) warmed up the 800H, which added (quite a) few
db, made the contact with a S-9 sig into that country. Said my 73's and
went away. RF horsepower is nice to have (and necessary) sometimes. Now I am
back to barefoot with 100 watts for most all other contacts.
