80 39 missed my amp here...ugly score- it was
packed-
40 214 ahhh, true blue and reliable- but I need a
real 40 meter ant-
20 354 Twilight zone - a challenge to the senses-
15 380 Relaxed........work horse band for me-
10 114 kept thinking it going to open up wide here
but never did-
Totals 1,101 QSO's 78 Sections for 171,756 (1 dupe)
SOAP BOX-
Missed UT and maybe WY......my one WY contact was a bit strange- we shall
see.....
Was great to work all the VE's I missed in CW sweepstakes- I did hear a Utah
station, the one section I missed, but it was a case of one way wicky wacky
condx on 20 meters at the time- darn, he was 10 over on the 800 foot JA bevg
antenna- but not a peep on the beam pointed right at him-
#@#!!!..........gave up after 1/2 an hour and got greedy for more
Q's.........I was tired of the contest gods toying with me-
My VOICE IS GONE, I had to use it a lot more than I expected thx to a MFJ 432
voice keyer possessed by demons- it worked, it crapped out, it worked, it
died, it started turning over all by itself....you get the hint- I guess any
one fool enough to use anything with MFJ stamped on it for important events
deserves what they get- maybe I can send it back to MFJ repair were my antenna
analyzer still sits collecting dust-
Next year for halloween, I plan to disguise myself as a net control operator
on 14.300 Mhz or a cop to police the band edges for violators- scary bunch-
too many chiefs and not enough indians on 20 meters- can't we all just get
along?????
Sunny and mild wx here the entire weekend- we did have a steady 40 mph wind
gusting up to 60 mph most of the day Sunday- I'll be darned if the Butternut
HF2V didn't looked like it had a 600 lb marlin on the end of it- it was
whipping all over the place- but it made it through ok- the Tennadyne Log
Periodic survived just fine-- it's a good antenna for all the nuke silo's in
this area- I worry more about my tornado shelter surviving a direct hit than I
do about the Tennadyne T-6........ see you next contest 73 Paul N0AH
