Comments:
What a wild ride. We only had two operators the first day, three on the second,
and decided on a "Hobo M/2." Started out with incredible runs on 10
and 15, 200+ per hour on each. About 6 or 7 hours in, things declined. K index
went up to 5 though with the SFI up at 170 or above, we didn't get our usual
total radio silence. Still, not much happening, especially on the low bands.
Things started picking up around 2200Z, KP dropped some, though stayed pretty
high throughout, but it was enough. 15 and 20 stayed open the entire rest of
the contest, unfortunately we didn't much of a EU window on 10, only worked a
few of the "big guns" but was wide open to most of the rest of the
world. Had some real unusual things happen as well. Had a really nice EU run
on 40M at around 2000Z, which is almost unheard of.
Also had the great pleasure of welcoming John, NH7T/AL4A to the team. A
seriously good op and nice guy who it turns out, lives about 25 miles from here.
Always great, albeit rare, to find great talent in one's backyard.
